I am an actor, dancer, singer, and writer who is committed to supporting the equal and accurate representation of BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People Of Color) artists and I proudly support the theatremakers known as The Ground We Stand On in promoting BIPOC representation in American theatre. Behind The Artist

I was born in El Salvador and immigrated to the United States at the age of three. Growing up in Southern California, I graduated from UCLA with a BA in Theatre Arts. I appeared on both English- and Spanish-language television in Los Angeles while simultaneously teaching elementary school. I have performed with several theatre companies throughout the San Francisco Bay Area, where I now live. 

 

Stories have always been an integral part of my life and after publishing my first novel, HIGH WATER, in January 2021, I realized there was more of this story to tell and I began working on the sequel as well as the audiobook version of HIGH WATER, which have both recently been published. In November 2021 I was featured in the San Jose Mercury News’ insert magazine, Bookish, and in December 2021 I participated in the San Jose Public Library’s 9th annual LocalLit author panel discussion.

 

Writing and performing combine two of my passions with my lifelong fervor for storytelling. My innate curiosity and love of learning provide constant sources for new ideas and I'm never happier than when I can share my art and bring to life our common humanity through the power of storytelling.
